SUGAPA INTAN JAYA // Patrolihukum.net – One of the military units under the command of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA, the Task Forces of the Raider Infantry Battalion 509/Balawara Yudha Kostrad, is currently conducting mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in Intan Jaya Regency, Papua Tengah Province. On Tuesday, 19 November 2024, the 509 Task Forces Patrol Team carried out routine security patrols in the Sugapa District, specifically the Emondi Village. During the patrol, the Team had an opportunity to distribute free food to the residents.
Before the patrol began, the 509 Task Forces, especially the Holomama Post led by First Lieutenant Wanianto, had prepared several food packages to distribute to the residents. It enhanced the relationship between the Soldiers and the Emondi residents. Therefore, that Tuesday morning, the Soldiers brought several food packages and distributed them to the residents.
When the food was distributed, the residents who received it expressed their joy with big smiles while saying thank you. A senior Papuan mother named Mama Maria Japugau said, “Praise God, Commander 509, thank you for sharing the food. God bless TNI.”
Upon receiving the activity report, the HABEMA Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, commended the 509 Task Forces’ initiative to provide free food to residents of Emondi Village. His words: “The 509 Task Forces’ initiative is a testament to TNI’s commitment to provide the community’s basic need to support the acceleration of development in the Papua region.” This recognition from the highest authority in HABEMA is not just a commendation but a testament to the significant role of the military in community development. It instills profound hope and optimism about their potential to shape the region’s future positively. It makes the Task Forces and the community feel recognized, valued, and respected for their efforts. It gives everyone a sense of hope and optimism about the region’s future development.
